Characteristics
The purpose of a UPS is to provide the ideal supply voltage for the equipment connected to it, whether mains power is present or not. Once connected and powered up, the UPS produces a sinusoidally alternating voltage of stable amplitude and frequency, regardless of any variations and/or fluctuations occurring on the mains. While the UPS is receiving power from the mains, the DSP processor ensures that the connected batteries remain charged. The DSP also monitors the amplitude and frequency of the mains voltage, the amplitude and frequency of the voltage generated by the inverter, the applied load, the internal temperature and the status of the connected batteries.
Three versions of Sentryum UPS
Riello presents the Sentryum UPS in three versions: Compact, Active, Xtend. The introduction of three versions of the unit allows the UPS to be even more closely matched to the needs of a specific working environment. The Compact UPS, thanks to its compact design, is able to operate in a very small space. Its footprint is only 0.2 m². The Active version allows a wide range of power requirements and back-up times, as well as one or two levels of battery charging. The Xtend has the largest capacity and back-up time options, with a compact design, the possibility to change the degree of protection of the housing and the integration of an isolation transformer.
In Riello Sentryum three-phase UPS, the most important aspects are efficiency, reliability, flexibility and compactness.
Efficiency levels in the Sentryum UPS
The Sentryum UPS reaches an efficiency level of 96.6% in on-line mode and 99% in Smart Active mode. It should be added that this high efficiency is achieved while reducing the footprint and components, as the UPS is made up of modules which reduce the space between components. The high efficiency is achieved through the use of three-level inverter circuits and resonant control.
High power in Sentryum 3-phase UPS
The use of digital control allows up to 270% of the inverter current to be transferred for 200 ms and 150% for 300 ms.
Modes of operation
- On-line
- Eco
- Smart Active
- Standby of
Smart battery management
The Sentryum UPS has a number of features that optimise battery operation, extending battery performance and life and making it reliable in emergency situations.
- charge voltage compensation
- automatic battery condition testing
- deep discharge protection
- wide operating voltage range of the charger
3 battery charging methods: single-level for VRLA AGM, two-level and cyclical
Communication
The UPS is equipped with a 5'' colour touchscreen display, which, among other things, enables the following to be carried out:
- display of system status
- switching the system on/off, activating the battery test and executing bypass commands
- configuring the system, access levels and network services.
The home page displays a synoptic diagram of the general operating status of the system. The icons can be used to interact with the system and access further information. The display allows communication to be selected in Polish. From the display, the operating mode is selected, voltage and frequency are set, batteries are configured and an automatic battery test is programmed.
Remote control panel
The remote panel allows the UPS to be monitored remotely and provides a detailed real-time summary of the unit's status. The unit provides the operator with the ability to monitor the electrical values of the mains supply, outputs, batteries etc. and locate any alarm conditions.
Parallel work card
All Sentryum UPS can be connected in parallel with other units of the same size using an optional parallel operation card, which must be inserted into the slot provided for this purpose. A maximum of 8 three-phase units can be connected.
Optional extension cards
The UPS is equipped with two extension slots for additional communication or input/output extension cards, which enable the unit to communicate using the main communication standards, such as:
- Second RS232 port
- Serial duplicator
- Ethernet network agent with TCP-IP, HTTP and SNMP protocol
RS232 + RS485 port with JBUS/MODBUS protocol - Additional digital inputs
- Additional voltage-free output contacts
Internal isolation transformer and supercapacitors optional for Xtend
The Sentryum Xtend UPS can be ordered in an optional OT version, where it will have a built-in isolation transformer connected to the output terminals of the Xtend UPS instead of internal batteries, and it can also be optionally equipped with supercapacitors instead of conventional batteries as a back-up power supply.
Other additional options in the Xtend UPS
Dust filter without power reduction for industrial environments
A special door for on-site installation is available for the XTEND - XTD series UPS as a kit with special dust filtration. This kit is designed for UPS located in dusty environments. The addition of the filter, when properly maintained, does not reduce the performance of the UPS (no loss of power).
IP 30 version for increased UPS protection
This option, available on request prior to the purchase of the UPS, provides a degree of protection up to IP30.
Version with optional roof
In this version, the UPS is equipped with a roof to protect it from vertically falling water droplets.
