A major research center is being built in Krakow, with a synchrotron at its heart. The Solaris Synchronous Radiation Center with synchrotron is the first of its kind not only in Poland, but also in our part of Europe.
The synchrotron will house a ring with a circumference of almost 100 meters, in which electrons will circulate in a vacuum, emitting a broad spectrum of electromagnetic radiation from infrared to X-rays.
The accelerator will enable research on new medications, as well as in the fields of geology, crystallography, archaeology, or art conservation.
As part of the implementation of this project, Centrum Elektroniki Stosowanej delivered and commissioned three true on-line UPSs with capacities: two - 100 kVA and one - 40 kVA.
The first UPS with a capacity of 100 kVA is used to provide power to the Center's office building: workstations, cabinets, server, needed installation during a fire. The other two uninterruptible power supplies with capacities: 100 kVA and 40 kVA power the Solaris scientific equipment.
